The images on this website are a sample of the pictures used by Jon Billsberry in his creativity, innovation, reflection, visioning and blue sky thinking workshops.
In these workshops, managers or students work in groups to address current issues or concerns that they have. They use the images of the sky to imagine different scenarios, to think about things differently, to reflect on a 'journey', to prompt discussion, and to envision different futures. In short, these images act as projective devices to unblock, clarify and stimulate thinking.
They have been used with teams that are 'stuck' in their thinking. Something about the sky reflects moods and emotions and the images help the participants reconceptualise their problems revealing different ways of doing things.
They have also been used with doctoral students to think about the way ahead and, once completed, to review the journey.
The images have also been used to help teams get to know each other. The images can provide an excellent, non-threatening, stimulus that helps people talk openly about things that they are usually reticent to speak about.
